The Collegiate Penetration Testing Competition (CPTC) provides a venue for top cybersecurity student teams to discover, triage, and mitigate critical security vulnerabilities. This competition focuses on improving the security posture of a fictitious organization and reporting on risks in a manner that is similar to a real professional engagement. For 2018, the following scenario has been built:
Founded in 2017, Wheelz is the world’s premier autonomous transportation network. Our vehicles are designed to get you to your destination in an affordable, safe, and comfortable manner. We believe that the safest drivers on the road are artificial – unable to be distracted and programmed to handle whatever situations may arise on the open road. Given our commitment to safety and security, we are conducting a set of penetration tests in 2018 to validate our information systems, applications, and vehicle technologies.
The top teams from the Western/Central/Eastern Regional Competitions will advance to the CPTC National Finals hosted at the Rochester Institute of Technology, November 2-4, 2018.
